Star Hopper.

Explaining the wonders of the night sky.

Welcome.

Star Hopper is a project I started in December 2008 to collect information on astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology and other related subjects.

We are all star dust, so I feel that this is a worthy pursuit and use of my time as the subject is expansive, interesting and constantly pushing the limits of human ingenuity and engineering, as well as my desire to earn a degree in the subject.

So here I hope to compile an exhaustive resource on astronomy and related areas for everyone, my blog for my own astronomy, our cosmic origins, and the many fold exotic entities that we share the Universe with.

Any questions, reccomendations, requests, or anything else please let me know.

Site News.

6th July 2009.

Well doesn't time fly when your brain is turning to mush, The good news is I'm back, the bad news is I have neglected the site for a long time, sorry about that. I finally have some spare time to spend developing the website again now though, so here is hoping that I can start expanding the contents as I had wished many months ago. Removed the Collingwood Astronomy page due to a depressing lack of interest, and added a blog entry to let you all know what has been going on.

10 February 2009.

Started work on the more detailed page on Our Solar System. After that individual detailed pages for the planets are coming. Also check out this site, it is a program called celestia, a fantastic space simulation that is freeware.

2nd February 2009.

Hey everyone, been pecking away at lots of little things and achieved very little, so I am prioritising many varied parts I want to add to the site. Currently top of the list is detailed information for the individual planets and Sun, and improved/more detailed/updated star charts for the existing constellations. I'm also working on a power point on scales and sizes in astronomy and hemispherical projections of the constellations, the birth of the solar system, biographies on Johannes Kepler, Carl Sagan, Galileo Galilie and Sir Patrick Moore, information on Chandra, Hubble, Spitzer, Fermi and the Pioneer/Voyager sattelites/scopes/probes, guide to beginners telescopes, and a growing list of links I know you guys will love. Keeping you in the loop as always.

Old page updates.
