Wadoryu Karate Do

Wadoryu Karate Do

My Budo, my way of life.

Welcome.

Martial arts is my life. Having started studying wadoryu karate at the age of 6 my love and curiosity about martial arts has never wavered and as I entered my teens, this love blossomed, reaching fruition at 12 having obtained my Sho-dan-ho. After which I moved on as far as my 1st dan at 14. After joining the Royal Navy I learned of the fantastic variety of martial arts available.

After passing into the Royal Navy on the 3rd of October 2003, I moved to HMS Collingwood where I took up Jujitsu, Judo, and Tae-kwon-do for the duration of my training. Having started all over again in the martial arts a decade on from my original beginning I wanted more and more. So I took a trip to the book shop and started reading up on my martial arts, and soon after I started reading about other martial arts as diverse as kung-fu, kenpo, aikido and the collection is always growing.

With my 21st birthday approaching, I have decided that I wanted to do something diferent, so with "Every journey starts with a single step" from The Tao (Chinese lit-way or path)* I have decided to teach Wadoryu Karate in the Navy.

*What they neglect to tell you is, if the step is in the wrong direction, then the whole journey becomes two steps longer.
